Desert Eagle owners, let me ask you
I have always had a curiosity about the DE, not just because of all the movies but that too I admit.
I have held a few, never fired one.
Can you spare a few moments and share with me your likes/dislikes of your DE? Even if it's a baby eagle, I'd like to hear from you.
-Thanks for your time.

Ask Uncle Google about the Cz-75.
The "Baby Eagle" is nothing but a Cz-75 clone.

I had a DE .44mag.
I didn't like it all that much and sold it.
It's heavy and bulky. Would FTE often.
It was accurate though when it would function properly.
I don't really miss it that much and IMO there are better things to be had for the amount of money a full size DE costs.

I am very fond of my 50AE. It is a blast to shoot and accurate. Only downside I can think of is that is is too large to carry and can be heavy for some.

I have the 50AE. I love it, it is a fun gun to shoot. Only drawback really is it's expensive to shoot with the cheapest ammo for it going for about 28 bucks per box of 20rds. Speer 325gr is 38 bucks per 20rds. It's fun to bring it out from time to time and fire off some rounds though. I took mine out shooting last week and I had a bunch of my friends firing it. Most of them don't fire guns much, if at all, but they all did pretty well with it.
And I actually just got a Baby Eagle .45 yesterday but I have not gotten a chance to try it. I picked up the Baby Eagle in the store and it had some nice heft to it so it seemed like it would be a nice soft shooter, so I said what the hell and decided to add it to the collection.

I was strongly considering one myself, but when I started looking into it, seamed like they weren't dependable. The gas ports get clogged easy I guess. I couldn't see putting out that kind of cash for something that isn't dependable. I do still like the basic idea. who knows, maybe someday...

i have a 50ae and love it.
i love the gaudiness of it, i love the looks on everyone's faces when i pull it out of my range bag, i love the big BOOM it makes, i love how accurate i am with it.
i hate that ammo is expensive.
i've had 2 or 3 fte's with it, but those were my fault.
mostly i hate that i just can't walk around with it in my hand at all times.
seriously, though, it's probably my favorite gun.

I'm going to buy one as soon as money permits. You need to use HOT ammo, and ONLY jacketed bullets. Lead will clog the gas port, and only hot loads will cycle properly. I've used one a few times and it's GREAT. The .44 mag has VERY little recoil and is very accurate. This had a red dot on it and hitting bullseyes was easy as pie.
When I get mine I'm getting all the parts for .357 mag, .44 mag and .50 AE. I'll probably use the .44 for hunting, the .357 mag for CC/range, and the .50 just to say I have it.

i have shot the .44 mag. it was very accurate. it was also VERY heavy. recoil was minimal. i put only 40 rounds through it but it was a great shoother. with no problems. the guy who owns it then put another 60 or so rounds through it with no jams or failures.

I've only had a chance to shoot the .357 magnum. The gun cycled all rounds just fine. Now, I don't own one, but I can tell you this:
The 357 & 44 Mag versions are subject to the WIDE variance in ammunition of those calibers. Since these are revolver cartridges, ammo in these calibers runs the gamut from powderpuff target loads to full-house "shoot that damn bear" loads. What I DO know is that the DE likes hotter loads, not the stuff loaded to watered down specs. I've found that hot magnum loads are typically more expensive than their downloaded brethren, and this should be considered. Of course, this does not ever present a function problem in revolvers and the variety is welcomed there. Unfortunately the same does not apply to semi-autos that use these cartridges.
