All metal 9mm

Did Smith & Wesson ever made any all-metal 9mm? What other 9mm were made in all metal / steel frame?

Doing a research so I can go back on Monday to argue with my local gunsmith! Your input are more than welcome!

I think just about every Smith semi-auto made before the M&P was all metal.
Look at the 39 (1st Gen), the 469 (2nd Gen) and the 3XXX and 6XXX series (3rd Gen) for starters.

H&K P7?

CZ-75 (& clones)?

Star B/BM?

Stainless framed Beretta 92's?

Not sure about S&W's...but don't 6-series have stainless frames?

Isn't the 5906 all stainless? I beleive it is. The 5903 is stainless slide with an alloy frame and the 5906 is the same size but with a steel frame. Both 4 inch barreled 15 round 9mms.

So yeah...they made an all steel 9mm...all stainless...but all steel! LOL

Heres the info:

heres the link with most of them listed (I went off of brickboy) Smith & Wesson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I almost bought a 5059 at Christmas, supposedly great guns, just a pain to strip apart.

A lot of huge police agencies still use the steel framed ones, a lot of medium sized frames are still around for bugs as well. NY NY still had them when I saw the cops there over Christmas.

The 5906 Smith 9mm was once a very common police issued pistol. In the late 80s - early 90s, it was king until the Glocks came along. It was the main pistol that brought many police out of the revolver era and into the "wondernines."

I see many nice lightly used 5906s and 5903s on the used market at very good prices. They're a tad heavy (the 5906) but decent shooters.

I used to own an all-metal Firestar 9mm.

Prior to Glocks becoming popular, virtually every handgun by every manufacturer was all-metal, and plenty of them were 9's.

Is the fellow you're arguing with asserting something to the contrary?
