I am assuming some have heard they have hired additional personnel to assist in the back log of NFA forms. I called today to check the status of my can. I figured if I hit the 6 mo mark, I would call. I actually had an issue and spoke with a Mr. Brandt. He is one of the newly hired and I had a short discussion with him on processing. He was a very nice guy to talk to and not put out by the questions.

He said they have been able to decrease the average wait times from 7 mo down to 5 at the moment. Their goal is to get it down to 2 months very soon after working through the mess they have now.

Not sure if anyone is a member of the American Silencer Association and have heard what they are up to but the ASA just completed a trip to the ATF NFA Branch where they met with key personnel to discuss this and other topics. They were accompanied by Silencerco personnel and Mr. Scott Bittner of Silenced America, LLC (Great NFA dealer if anyone is looking for someone to deal with). They have confirmed what was told to me on the phone by Mr. Brandt. Looks like there could be some improvements in the near future. Some of it looks to be taking affect as you can visit NFA Tracker and you can see times from received to check cashed, on to pending and then to approved (this info is input by the buyer so it is up to the buyer to contact the ATF to acquire this info).

I figured I would give an update and say if you have a chance, check into the ASA on FB and see what they are up to. Sorry to those who may not care or already know. I just wanted to pass this along.

Sweet man. I heard they were hiring 20 more people. I finally got mine 2 days ago after 1 day shy of 7 months waiting. Hopefully yours shows up sooner.

That is great news. I got my stamp back May 16th for a can. It took 6 months and 2 wks!!! Just 6 months prior to that I only waited 5 months on the stamp for my SBR.

I'm currently a little over 4 weeks into a Form 3, hopefully it shows up soon, then I'll update with a new Form 4 trust time frame.

Form 3, sent May 30th, went Pending June 18th.

Well, speak of the devil. Just got my stamp back for the .22 Sparrow. Not quite the 5 month turn around they mentioned at this point in time but it was faster than a friend of mine. We will see if it improves as I have another i'm waiting on. If that wait time is down, then I should be good in about 2 more.
