There are several NFA threads on other forums that track NFA times. I won't post links but m4carbine has an extensive one. It does seem like delays may be more common now but it looks like if there's no hangups it still averages about 3 months.

The important question of course is what are you getting that requires a stamp?

Personally I'm debating picking up a 9mm suppressor, and maybe doing a form 1 for an SBS.

That's nuts. My first one took 30 days door to door in 2009. The second one took 11 weeks this spring.

All of these were done on an "individual" form.

My first one took 6 weeks (SBR) 2006

My second one took about 9 weeks (SBR) early 2007

Third one took 10 weeks (form 1 Suppressor) 2008

Fourth one took 11 weeks (form 1 suppressor) 2008 submitted just before the election

Fifth one took 5+ months submitted spring of 2009 (machine gun) post election blues.

I've done around 10 tax stamps and all have taken different lengths of time. Some are 90 day and others take 180 days. It all depends on the examiner and their work load. I can say that the examiner W. Shipman usually takes a longer amount of time and I usually get him for my form 1's.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Thanks Everyone

Now at about 96 days on my second attempt at my SBS. Wondering now if any undue delays are accuring due to the present administration? HB of CJ (old coot)
