'Nother Newbie saying hi.
Hi all. Chiming in for the first time here. I reside about half the time in Oregon but also keep one foot planted on the other side of the Atlantic, in Holland, where I work as a professional researcher with some universities.
I love shooting, pure and simple. If it shoots, I like it. If it shoots well, I love it. I may have my preferences, but the things I prefer are things I like along with everything else, not instead of. I really tire of doctrinaire arguments about pistol vs. revolver, 1911 old-school vs. polymer hi-tech, 9mm vs. 45., XD vs. Glock etc etc and so on. I've got (at least) (They like me at the gun store. I joke about coming in and saying "One of everything...no wait...make that two!" If I ever win the lottery, I'm doing just that!) Politically, I believe we should legalize freedom, and ban prohibition. Don't like something? Don't do it. Simple. But you have no right to stop other folks from following their bliss just because it offends your tender sensibilites. It's time for America to grow up and quit the whining - from both sides. I don't care if it's not what Jesus/Marx/Gandhi/Ronald Reagan/Ronald McDonald or the cow I had for dinner would do. If I'm doing it and you don't like it, take it up with them, not me. Either grow up and get over it or leave me alone. You're entitled to your opinion, but you shouldn't be entitled to enshrine your pet (or petty) opinions as the law of the land. Keep your laws off my guns, outta my bedroom, and away from my personal pleasures, and I will kindly do likewise. Last edited by Thebes; 08-13-2008 at 10:11 PM. |
