Catching up...

OK, I have been here a little bit now, but I never formally introduced myself so no I am catching up. I have been been trolling around here and learning for about 6 months, and just recently started posting. Anyhow now that I am posting, here's my introduction:

I'm a 29 year old soldier currently deployed to Iraq. I grew up a military brat so I am not really from any one place, but my wife and I own a home in Manhattan, Kansas, so that is where I call home. I served four years in the Marine Corps and will be getting out of the Army just after hitting the fifth year of a four year contract. When I get out I plan on becoming either a LEO, firefighter, or a paramedic, but I am not quite sure how my colorblindess will come into play.

I recently purchased my first XD, but have yet to actually touch it. (Actually I purchased it here on the forum to replace my Glock 30. ) When I go home for leave this September, I will be picking it up in the Dallas area on my way to visit my wife who is currently in San Antonio. I will probably be spending a week to a week and a half down there and will have LOTS of free time. If anyone knows of a nice range in the San Antonio area where I can go an send a few hundred rounds through my XD45c, please let me know.

Hey JAK............
I didn't realize you were replacing a Glock 30 with the XD45 compact..
I sold my Glock 26 to buy my XD9sc.....

Welcome to the forum, and thanks again.
I mailed the BOS back to you yesterday.
Look forward to meeting you in September.....1LL

Thought I had mentioned that. I was at the range with my G30 and a friend let me fire his XD.40. It was then that I decided I would be buying an XD. Sold the Glock before I left Kansas and have been reading anything and everything I can find about XDs ever since.

Welcome to XDTalk, and congrats on your XD. You will love it when you get your hands on it and put some projectiles down range. Thank you for your service to this great country.
