New here, just ordered an XD subcontact 9.
Can't wait until it gets here! I initially thought I wanted a Kahr Mk40, but shot one for a while, didn't like the recoil. Nice and small, but only has a 5 rd and 6 rd magazine.
I hemmed and hawed about the caliber, and I considered the XD 45 compact. I want to throw a lot of ammo through this gun at the range, so I decided that I liked the cost savings of the 9mm round. Also, although I know it's somewhat controversial, the stopping power of 9mm with modern +P JHP's is very good, I have read as high as 91% first stop. Maybe I'll get a 45 at a later date. I also want the 9 SC for concealed carry in the summer, and, after doing lots of research, I think the XD 9 SC should be at or near the top of anyone's shortlist. I ordered some CCI ammo that came to only 15 cents a round! Cheap! Any other good deals on ammo? Got research a good tuckable IWB too. Anyone like the Ultra-thin kydex from FIST? |

Welcome from Michigan. Good info and good folks here. I usually buy ammo from WalMart; its a few cents more per round than what you paid. Where did you order yours from?

Thanks for the welcome. I ordered the ammo from Natchez. Good tip about Walmart. If my ammo doesn't get here soon enough, maybe I'll buy a couple of boxes from Walmart.

Good to hear SA_lady. I'm new to the sport, just got my NRA card in the mail today! I'm going to join an outdoor range soon. 65 acres, hunting archery, rifle and pistol. I think it has an indoor range too!
