Cool The XD 4" vs 5"

The XD 4" model has a captive recoil spring & guide rod, and the 5" does not. Therefore, the 5" tactical model requires a little closer attention when disassembling the recoil / guide rod for cleaning.

Its not a big deal, but it can become a projectile of its own if you're not careful.

All the XD's are great shooters. I have a 3" subcompact .40, that shoots as tight as my XD40 service model or the XD45 tactical. Have not been to the range yet with the new XDm 4.5" .40
