New XDm Owner
Hello all...
Just picked up my all-black XDm today and after giving it a cursory cleaning and putting 200 rounds through it this afternoon, I'm really liking it! I'm interested in getting some night sights in the not too distant future and was wanting to get opinions on which ones to get. Should I just go with the Springfield Custom Tritium sights or stick with aftermarket sights like Trijicon? Also, this thing seems pretty accurate from the factory...are adjustable sights like the Dawson's worth the extra bucks? Dave |

Welcome to the forum from UT!
Post your questions in the general discussion area, more people will see them. I don't know what sights are avialable for the XDm as far as after market goes. Glad you like the XDm! |

Hi, Dave, and welcome from Michigan.
I have Trijicons on my .45 but prefer the Tru-Glo TFO's on my .40. However, after about 200 rounds through the .40, the front fiber optic tube came loose. I am waiting to hear back from Gilbert's (who installed it) on how to get it back in place.

Thanks for the welcomes and responses... I'll post new questions on the main forum.
I saw on the Rob Leatham videos (part 4, I believe) on the SA site that the fiber optic and Tritium sights available both appeared to be the same forward sloping rear sight design that comes standard on the XDm. I'm guessing those are the Springfield Custom sights referred to in the custom shop, because I've seen Trijicon sights for the XD and those look like the sights that come standard on the XD -- not the forward sloping kind, but the ones that are more straight up and down. I don't suppose I care about looks that much. I just want something that works when I need it -- although the ability to adjust the sights (Dawson's) sure would be nice. Dave |

just curious, why do you need adjustable sights?? Competition?? I'm a fairly new xdm owner, right out of the box it's scary accurate. i'm shooting small plastic cups and soda cans out to 40 yards with factory and reloads alike.
