good choice. I just picked up my first XD (also an XD-M) last week from a buddy who was trying to unload his to buy more bass fishing gear. I took mine out to the range the first week to check some reloads over a chronograph (so only got maybe no more than 20-25 rounds) and then earlier this week at 25 yards to check for accuracy. Out of the 65 rounds I had time to get down range only about 6 were outside of the black of the bull target (I'm guessing those were the ones I was getting lazy with). I'm very pleased with the accuracy of an out of the box, stock XD-M with the factory Match barrel. I think you will enjoy yours. Next will be a Sight upgrade and trigger work. By the way, Blade-Tech (just down in Tacoma) is working on a mold for the XD-M and I just placed my order for one of their OWB SRB holsters that they quoted the usual 4 week wait until completion along with the mag pouches. In the mean time, besides the factory holster, Rich Dettelhouser(sp?) of canyoncreekcustoms.com mentioned that the Safariland hoslter for the XD may work as well as the speed hoslter from CR Speed. Enjoy your XD-M when you get it! Last edited by pistobro206; 07-12-2008 at 06:01 AM. |

Welcome from Minnesota!!! I've got about 500 rounds through my new XDm and love it. As far as holsters go, not much to choose from right now because it's so new. It should come with a kydex holster and double mag carrier. I'm not crazy about kydex, but the major holster makers will no doubt start making holsters in the very near future...Kinda old-fashioned, but I much prefer leather. Good luck and have fun..hard not to with the XDm!!!!

Welcome neighbor! I shoot at Sam's Indoor range, it is on airport road and 99 roughly. It is close to Lynnwood and they are really nice in there. PM me if you have any questions.

Welcome to the forum from UT! If people can conceal carry full size 1911s, you can carry the XDm. Holster selection will determine how well you can conceal your fire arm. I carry a XD45 Service model (EWB), not the compact, and have never been 'made'. I also carry a 1911 (OWB) so find a style you want to try, OWB, IWB, ect. and go from there. Good Luck.
