Welcome to the forum from UT! You will not regret the XD. As this is your first auto, do a search on proper grip and trigger control. Most new right handed shooters will shoot low and to the left until they figure out the trigger. Good Luck.

Welcome from Mn to the forum and the world of XDs. Don't be discouraged with the trigger pull. It's just a little different from other handguns. Once you're used to it, it's awesome. If it is not to your liking, search the forum for a fix. Lots have done it. Good luck!
