Just bought my XD 45 ACP yesterday. This is my first gun and it is also the first gun I've ever held or fired.

I live in Philadelphia and I'm a student at Temple University.

I finally bought a gun because I got tired of feeling like a sitting duck in this city. Haha. Next step is getting my license to carry.

Once I get some more shooting under my belt I think I'd like to start some sort of competition shooting. I know the range/shop I bought at hosts IDPA matches.

I'm assuming you live off campus since you have your XD, they don't allow guns on campus right?

Welcome, both of you, from Lancaster County. My sister is doing an internship at Drexel and my sister-in-law is a student at Temple.

Anyway, there are frequently group shoots going on in this area and there are some fun matches at a club in Langhorne on the first Saturday of the month.
