Hey all, I'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have yet to purchase my first handgun due to financial restraints right now, but my father-in-law got me interested in collecting, and I would love to start a collection with a functional, useful firearm. My Father has a XD40 SD, and I love going to the range with him to squeeze a few off when I'm not working or planning my wedding (marrying my high school sweetheart in January).

Love the feel of the XD, love the look, but as I'm still new to firearms, I have many many questions. My questions have brought me here many a time, and I thought i would become a member so that my questions could be answered directly.

I'm a law student at Louisiana State University, planning to graduate in 6 more semesters (it seems like an eternity). I hope that I will be able to help others in this forum with my limited knowledge much in the same way that they help me.
