VA newbie-conversion question

Hello all.
I've been breaking in my new XD-40 service over the past few weeks and absolutely love it. The problem is I now spend more on .40 ammo than I do on fuel. Dropping it down to 9mm for the range with a conversion barrel seemed like a good idea, so I ordered the EFK Firedragon drop in yesterday. Do I need to alter anything else ie(recoil spring/magazine) to complete the conversion? Also, is the process more involved than simply switching out the barrels? Any info would be much appreciated.

Just switch the barrels and you will be good to go. Your .40 mags SHOULD work, if not you can modify them to work or buy a few 9mm mags.

Welcome to the forum, I am fairly certain the only 2 XDs you can switch the barrels out in is between the XD40s and the XD357sig. Someone may prove me wrong, but ensure you know the definite answer before you attempt this.

Yeah Sarge- you can convert the .40 or the .357 down to 9mm...you just can't convert to a larger caliber...but you need a CONVERSION BARREL. I could not convert my .40 to 9mm with a standard SA 9mm barrel.

You also need 9mm mags.
