Hey all! Really glad I found this place. I just purchased a brand spankin' new XD .40 sub-compact and I love it. I haven't been able to shoot it yet, but I hope to this week end. I used to have a CZ100 9mm, but sold it last year because my wife didn't care for them, and I regretted it ever since. I was finally able to explain the why's and what for's of home defense and CC so I just bought my new baby Monday!
One question... since my CZ100 was a 9mm, what kind of a kick difference can I expect from the XD40SC as compared to the CZ? Thanks in advance and it great to meet you all. |

The .40 and 9mm are similar in the fact that their recoil is more muzzle flip han blow back and obviously the .40 will have more muzzle flip than the 9mm. not so much that its uncontrollable but it is more!

Welcome to the forum from UT! Go shoot your XD and find out for yourself. Proper grip and stance go along way in taming recoil.
