Welcome to the forum from UT!

As has been stated, are the magazines fully loaded or empty? If they are loaded, try locking the slide back, inserting a magazine AND THEN hit the mag release button with the slide STILL LOCKED BACK. If it is difficult to release, then it is the spring in the mag release mechanism that is stiff and needs manipulated many times to loosen up. If it releases just like an empty magazine, it is the magazine springs. They will loosen up with use and shooting a lot is the best way to break it in. Good Luck.
