Shoot both and see which one you prefer... They are both great guns.

Both the Glocks and the XD have excellent reputations. To me though, the choice boiled down to what fit my hand and felt best to grip and to shoot. If it doesn't feel right and feel natural in your hand, you won't shoot as well as you could. For myself, I went with the XD 9 Service. (I also like the appearance of the XD much better).

My G 22C is my primary everything gun. The XD 45 is my range gun. Both are great pistols. The Glock was "easier" to tweak. Such as lighter trigger (down to about 2.5 lbs), quick interchangeable barrel (Wolf .40-9mm), Higher capacity mags (33 rnds). The XD feels good, looks good and shoots good I just added a OD SC 9mm to the pack because of its versatileness. I would try shooting both, unless you are like me and just buy them all
