Howdy from Manhattan, Kansas
Hi all. I bought an XD .45 Tactical two weeks ago for my college graduation present. I absolutely love it. I've been a long gun hunter all my life, but I have always been a terrible shot with the pistols I've had in the past.
So, i took my new toy out into the pasture range for some practice with the old man and his Ruger P89 9mm (and our $200 MAK 90, but that's another story...) 1st Clip - XD braced against a tree at 30 yds - 12 out of 13 into an 8" paper plate. Holy cow, I've never shot like this before. 2nd clip - XD free standing at 30 yds - 11 out of 13 into another plate. i'm convinced theres some kind of magic or steroid they put into this gun. The words performance enhancing come to mind... 3rd clip - Ruger standing 30 yds - 6 for 11 into the plate, I notice my .45 kicks less than Dad's 9...interesting...(i think change in trigger pulls causes inaccuracies) 4th clip - XD standing 20 yds - 13 for 13, with 6 in a nice group, yeah buddy. Summary - I tried to make it a challenge by shooting long range, mostly so I would have an excuse why the first few clips didn't hit anything, lol. I was very impressed with the accuracy of the gun, and myself for that matter. I'm pretty sure dad is going to buy one, and I couldn't be happier. |
