Newbie from south Texas
I've been looking around for my first handgun. I've been shooting with friends at the range for a while. Now they are tired of me only contributing to the ammo cost. I can tell this is the place for real XD feedback. Right now I think I'm set on 45ACP in either 1911 or XD. But I'm open to feedback. See you in the other sections. Thanks

Welcome to the forum from Michigan.
The XD or a good 1911 are both great choices. I have a XD .45 and have nothing but good things to say about it. I would highly recommend it.The only thing bad is the cost of .45acp ammo right now.

I have the XD 45 C and I love it. I went to the range with my son-in-law and his brother and I let both of them shoot the XD. Both were also very impressed with how it shot and how well they placed their shots for the first time.
Your friends will love shooting your XD also. |

Hey Kasper! Welcome from San Antonio!! My only egret in buying my XD45 was that I got the service model.. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gotten the 4" COMPACT model... it offers better versatility for CCW or for range time. Otherwise I love my XD45, my XD9 service and my XD9 Subcompact. What part of south Texas you located?

Welcome from Waco. I have a Springfield 1911 and XD, love them both. I don't think you'll be disappointed whichever route you go.
