Greetings folks....... from Indiana

Name's Jay, been shooting some form of firearm for over 40 years, and have carried 1911-style pistols for over 30 years. I've had a few of "these" and a few of "those", but in the end, ya shoot what you're comfortable with. I'm former 'Corps, and have been an NRA instructor for over 10 years. I know very little about the XD series pistols, but just bought an XD9 today, so I figured I'd hook up with a forum that should have the smarts relative to that pistol. I'll add it to my classroom handguns.

As a rule I don't post all that much, but if I can contribute, I will...... otherwise, I'll just see what I can soak up.

Regards.......

Thanks, gents...... and you're welcome.

I'm planning on a good sized range day tomorrow, and plan to put at least 500 rounds thru the new pistol. From what research I've done, I'm not looking for any problems. I've detail-stripped the pistol, and the factory gunk has been replaced by good stuff, and a bit of de-burring has been done. Nothing radical, but probably more of a "feel-good" thing. If your experiences have generated anything I should watch for, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Thanks, Jay

Welcome from Indiana, I listened to the Pledge of Allegience by Red Skelton on your "some of my toys" link. That was good, sent a shiver down my spine.

That .wav file is in the public domain. You may right-click on the link and save it to your computer if you wish. The last few comments are sadly prophetic.........
