Hey Guys! I'm brand new to this forum. I don't own an XD (yet), but plan on purchasing one within the next few months. I've recently become very aware and informed about home defense and wanted to get a great pistol for that role. After a lot of research, it seems like the XD is the way to go! It'll be nice backup/supplement to the 12 gauge. Just wanted to join up and read all about this weapon and double check to make sure I'm making the right choice. Would love to also get CCW, but that won't happen until Illinois politicians wake up or I move out of this state. Oh well. I'll do what I can for now. Anywho, I look forward to talking to you all!

You can join the NRA, write your politicians (it only takes a few minutes online), or move to a border state such as MO, or IN. That is, of course, you aren't in Centralia, e.g.
