Question Purchase advice

Well it's been decided... an XD is in my future.. XD9623HCSP06.. Full size 45acp 5" barrel stainless steel over black.. Is it better to buy through the internet and have shipped to a local dealer? or... just have the dealer order it? Thanks in advance to all who reply and I look forward to a long and hopefully informative membership in this forum

Welcome...

I think your question has many variables. You can get good deals online. I am friends with a gun dealer so I bought mine at dealer price. So, a lot depends on who and where you are buying from.

Welcome to the forum from NC! What's your home of residence?

You're looking at a winner of a gun! Just consider if you will ever need your local dealer and/or is his support to a range or activity is, or will ever be, needed by you or anyone that you are associated with. If the answer is, "Yes"; tell him/her what you want, what you have found on the Internet and say, "Can you get this at a reasonable price for me, because I'd rather support your operations, because I know that the community will benefit from your business."

Your city, county and state does reap revenues from every business in your community. You should give them the first and foremost opportunity reap some benefits from the citizens, otherwise, it's unreasonable for you to expect support from them!

Welcome. I went to a gun show and bought the best-priced one I could find. I didn't have my carry permit at the time and going to the show let me get around the 5-day wait and I also got a decent price

I live in Franklin co. NC I already have my purchase permit. no wait time involved. I already have an idea of the price online. Guess I'll go talk to the dealer in Raleigh and see what he's got to say. Plan to purchase mid June. Anybody got an opinion on the tritium night sights? are they worth the expense? or is a laser better? Thanks

Thumbs up

I purchased my XD (9SC) at Sportco locally. Including sales tax it was about the same as what I saw on line - before shipping and xfer. Find a good FLL that charges reasonably for his/her service (mine charges $20) then just do the math. It is always good to know a FFL anyway for those times you find a good deal and want to move quickly.

Best of luck to you.
