Prospective XD purchaser
Greetings from Idaho-
I have been shooting since childhood and I currently own a Buck Mark Camper .22 pistol and a Remington 597 .22 rifle. A friend of mine has an XD 45 compact and every time I go to his house, I end up with it in my hands, swapping mags, and holstering it endlessly. I am hopefully going to purchase either an XD9 SC or an XD9 compact if they ever make one. I'm also planning on getting my concealed permit in the next month or so... Anyway, I'll keep searching and reading and when I get an XD, I'll post up again... Thanks and great forum- Jess |

Welcome from PA. The XD45 compact was my first semi auto handgun. I love it. You can get an XD9 service and do a grip chop to make the grip the same size as the subcompact if you like the 4" service size.
Why not just get the XD45 compact if you like it so much? |

Strictly based on ammo price right now... I know ammo prices are up everywhere and around here .45 is almost twice the price of 9mm. if the ammo was closer in price, I'd go with the .45 most likely. I do like the grip length on the XD45 compact too...
I thought about the grip chop too on the service XD9 but I don't know if I could bring myself to cut into a $500 gun |
