Hello from Maryland
Been lurking here for a while and finally decided to say hi. I bought a XD9 service from Bass Pro in December. I have always wanted a semi-auto and the boss (wife) agreed so here I am. I don't understand why most women are against gun ownership. I asked her many times, after we bought the house in '02, if I could buy a gun and everytime the answer was "absolutely not." I picked up a sweet Mossberg 500 tactical last summer after five years of asking. I guess when we went to the gun shop and she saw my face light up holding it, she finally gave in. Then six months later, she let me get the 9. After she heard about all the fun I was having, now she wants to shoot. Man I don't understand.

I don't think most women are against gun ownership, it's the bitchy vocal ones who make a lot of noise end up making men think women don't like guns.
My wife really enjoys shooting my XD45 compact and my 1911 as well as the little .22 revolver. She also loves archery (target only, no killing/hunting). Then again, my wife wanted to go out for wings and beer on trivia night on the evening of our anniversary.

Welcome to the forum from UT! My friends likes to say "There is something about guns that just makes a woman mad." My wife enjoys shooting and sometimes gets annoyed when I go to the range without her but I had better not purchase any more firearms ever. Go figure.

Thanks guys! This site is an incredible resource. I believe I have found answers to all of my questions and then some (and I didn't have to ask). I just need the weather to get a little warmer to get some more range time.
