HI all New XD9 service owner
I am new to shooting handguns and my first major purchase was the XD9 service. I love it so far, about 500 rounds down range. Done a lot of reading on here and thanks to all for the tips and suggestions so far. Already thinking about a 45

Welcome from the Heartland! The Great State of Kansas. I have a XD .45 ACP service length, my wife has a 9mm in both Service and Sub Compact models. All are great shooters. The .45 in my opinion, tames the larger round nicely. The 9mm recoil is rather snappy, where as the .45 is like a heavy push.
I say go for the .45, its a great gun!!!
