new member from sc, hello to all

i purchased a xd9 and 40, both shoot to the left 5-6 inches of point of aim. the rear sights on both are set to the left one about 1/16 and one about a 1/32. hammer and punch had no joy in moving sight. i would like to have adjustable sights put on. any suggestions ?

Welcome to the forum form Florida. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for adjustable sights, mine were dead center out of the box, but there are many good people here who can help you out.

Welcome to the forum from UT!

Have you had some one else fire your pistols for accuracy? A common problem for new XD owners is the trigger pull is so long that the barrel tends to wander to the left for right handed shooter. Dry fire practice and range time will cure the problem.

As for night sights, there are sponsors of the forum here that have had very positive feed back from fellow forum member. Good Luck

+1 - give it a try - not saying you aren't a good shot but MasLakas is right about the pull and wander. Took me a few rounds to correct the problem.

hi to all and i appreciate the responses. i have not tried a back-up shooter but will. mine are second hand and you can tell sights were changed at some point. they don't even come close to sight marks on top slide. i'm waiting for a sight pusher delivery and then i think i'll be in business. i will also try tuning my firing techniques as stated. thanks to all.
