Lurker Finally Introducing Myself...
Well i have been a member since October (the month i bought my very 1st firearm, an XD40 Service) but have just lurked and read all the threads i can. I must say that this forum has some very smart, well rounded Americans that stand up for what they beleive in.
Like i mentioned i am fairly new to gun ownership but like everything i get into, i REALLY get into it. The 1st few months i went to the range every single weekend and even some days during the week with some co-workers. I have managed to go from a typical newb shot grouping (not much of a grouping really, haha) to a respectable 4in grouping at 10 yards, and i keep getting better. In November i purchased an XD9 Sub-Compact and took my CCW training. I qualified both guns and i received my permit a few weeks ago. I carry almost every single day, and most nights (except for those that i plan on having a couple of drinks). What prompted me to get my CCW was a slew of armed robbery's that happened i my neighborhood and then in my own condo complex! This was an eye opener for sure and i decided that i wasn't going to be anyone's victim. I hope that i will NEVER have to use a firearm in self-defense but it sure is nice to know that i can protect myself should the need present itself. I don't really know why it took me so long to post here but after an encounter at lunch today i was suddenly anxious to post. I was out picking up some food and as i walk into the restaurant i noticed a police car. I walk in and i see to police officers eating. I catch the eye of one of them and we nod to eachother. As i was waiting for my food one of the cops starting commenting on how long i had to wait for my food. This ended up turning into somewhat of a conversation. The whole time, i am carrying. Nothing was ever said, i am sure they didnt even notice. But i must admit was a bit nervous as i stood there with two cops, shooting the sh_t all while i had a loaded gun on me with one in the pipe. I'm sure it was just because i have only been carrying for a few weeks now and that up until less then 5 mos ago i didnt even own a gun. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and that i am very impressed with this board and most of its members and that i look forward to actually contributing to the board. |

Welcome!
I am newer too. Some of the pv discussion on here gets a little heated, but everyone on here respects everyone's opinion. |
