Greetings from Panama City, FL!

Hi! My name is Joe and I purchased a 4" XD-40 Service Model as a birthday present/first duty weapon today, and I found this place to be a great help, so I figured it was time I registered.

Joe,

Welcome to the forum from FL. My first XD was the 4" Service. He got lonely and insisted I buy him a baby brother -- so I did. The service is now the "permanent" HD weapon and the SC is now the carry weapon. Both are great choices. FYI -- both are .40

Heh, there was a lonely looking SC in the gun shop I was in today, but unfortunately my wife's good graces only go so far. So far, the only real trouble I've run into is trying to find a decent duty holster for the weapon. Any suggestions?

Same in FL, unfortunately I don't have a CCW (yet), and my LEO credentials don't count.

Do you need one?
You can carry off duty anyway right?
Some departments here require their LEOs to carry off duty...
