Hello from Virginia..

New XD9-Sub owner from Winchester. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm hoping to do so this weekend maybe.

To people around the area: Are there any ranges nearby? I've only been to Sleepy Creek once and wanted to know if there was anything closer.

Anyways, I hope it performs as well as I've heard. This my first firearm and I'm hoping I can say that I'm proud it is an XD.

There is an Isaac Walton League range near Front Royal that has very reasonable membership rates. There is also a range at Stephenson. I live just east of the Blue Ridge go to the NRA in Fairfax, Clark Brothers in Warrenton and ISL in Prince William.

Check this out for details: http://www.nrahq.org/shootingrange/f...l.asp?State=VA

Welcome from the Panhandle of WV. Sleepy Creek is free, which is a positive for it. SpringfieldXD.40 and Yeldarb are from our area also. They have been to the Cove, which is in Gore. They charge to shoot. But from what I heard from them, Sleepy Creek was as good if not better. I noticed xdgunner9mm said the Isaac Walton League, but I dont know much about them. As far as I remember you have to become a member first. Which means you have to find a sponsor, go to a meeting and then be voted in and pay dues. I may be wrong, but I remember talking about it with some friends a few years ago.

Does anyone in the area (again, I live in Winchester) know of any instructors/classes that I can take to get my CCW permit?
