Just registered, been hanging out here for a time.
Hi All,
I have 6 kids under 13 so I don't have much time for anything else. I thought I would float that disclaimer before the rest of the story so I can justify my lack of proliferation at practice with my firearms. I have owned an XD9mm SC for about 8 months and like it alot even though I have only put about 250 rounds thru it in that time. I had a Ruger P something in .40, but never got the hang of the double to single action trigger. I then traded it on a Glock 23 because I tried one at the range and was more accurate the first time it was tried against my Ruger. I had 2 issues with the Glock; it never pointed natural for me, I missed the positive click I got with my Ruger when you insert the magazine. ( I guess the was due to the polymer mag.) If I didn' really slap the mag in well, I wasn't sure it was totally engaged. (My only ftf with this pistol ever was due to this. I liked the XD pointability and the mags click in positively for me. I am scheduled to take my CCW class next weekend and am expecting the XD SC to be my carry gun, but time will only tell if I can become comfortable with this in most of my attire. I purchased a set of SureSight sights for my XD, but have has trouble finding someone to change them out. I came upon this site while searching for information or help concerning this still pending issue. That's all for now. |

Welcome to the forum. I had my sights installed by the gunsmith at the Huber Heights Gander Mountain for $20. Is that anywhere close to you?

Welcome to the forum. Alot of local gun shops will have a gun smith in thier employ, although not advertised. I'm kinda far away in Utah so I'm not sure what "super stores" they have in your area. Here I have a Cabela's about 20 min away and another store called Sportsmans Warehouse that's close. Both have gun smiths as well. I'm not sure how pricing would go for the super store but the local shop that I deal with seems to be very reasonable. I would check around at some local shops. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how many offer smithing services at reasonable prices. Good luck!!!!!
