Just wanted to post it up. It's a 4" .45 ACP. Hopefully I get some time to go to the range tomorrow. I haven't purchased any ammo yet, I am spending tonight familiarizing myself with it. I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and learned a lot. Thank you.

I took it down to the range and shot 150 rounds out of it this afternoon. I had two cases where the slide locked back with rounds in the magazine, but it was my fault with the thumb placement. That slide stop is sensitive! I shot one box of CCI Blazer Brass and 2 of Remington UMC (priced $12 and $15 at my local Wal-Mart).

I wasn't really going too much for accuracy, just wanted to get a feel for the gun. I kept my shots within a 10" ring from 15-25 yards with just a few strays. I was the only shooter for most of the time, so I experimented with weak hand, rapid fire drills, reload drills, etc. I'm more than happy with the way it performed, and I'm glad I got an XD. I'm going to go back Monday or Tuesday and put another 200 through it, and start focusing more on accuracy rather than familiarization.

One of the major drawbacks to the XD45 is you just want to keep putting rounds down range again and again and again and.......
