New XD-40 Owner

Whats up Fellas, Just bought my first sidearm, the XD-40. I have not shot it yet but I cant wait. Like I said this is my first sidearm purchase but being a former Marine I am not a stranger to firearms.

I do have one question about my purchase, after doing some reading I am concerned with the pre-mature slide lock issue that some people have experienced. One of the XDtalk members "Invsst" did a write up on this back in 2004 and I was curious if SA ever made any corrections to this issue?

If this is a real concern, I might want to go change to a diffrent model. I Look forward to learning and sharing info with everybody

TIA,
Newt

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the board.

I have the .40 service. Havent had any slide lock issues. In fact I have not had one malfunction with it. I lost count on how many thousands of rounds I have through it. Usually it ends up being your thumb that causes it but there was a post on here a little while ago where it was the round itself causing the lock back.

I wouldnt worry about it.

Enjoy

Clobber
