Hey Alaska. Former resident of Anchorage. The Air Force took me there and I stayed for about twelve years. Now in Northwestern Montana which is very simular to AK.

As far as concealed carry and the comfort of it I completely understand what you're going through. The first month it felt like everyone was watching me though no one was. After nine months now I don't give it a second thought. Time will make you more comfortable and if you're in Los Anchorage you may need to carry.

I had a good Air Force friend that was a member of APD. He was killed (murdered) on duty some years back. Los Anchorage can be a dangerous place.

Welcome from Columbus,Ga. I was born in Sitka,Alaska.Lived in Anchorage for about a year or so,but I don't remember any of it,someday I'd like to visit Alaska,I still have some relatives in and around Anchorage.
