from maryland
Hello I am an almost ( as of writing this) 35 year old woman living in the ... gag, choke... state of Maryland. Ok, the state isn't that bad, the anti gun liberals stink, but the fox trapping is supreme, and unlike PA I can trap 5 river otters per season. I live right near the PA line, I can almost peak over and see a shall-issue state.
Yes I like to fur trap, I do it all season long like a maniac, but longlining it is not. I just love doing it maybe 3-4 hours max a day running a line. My best season was 81 foxes and a bunch of other stuff. I just got an XD .40, after renting one at a PA store with a range. I did very well there, but having some trouble here on the property getting things lined up right. Heck at the indoor range I was about shaking I was so nervous. I get really embarrassed when people see me doing "my thing". For instance, trapping is very solitary. Of course at home here I have a weird set up and I'd say the closest I can get the target is about 20-25 feet , as I am on a low 2nd story deck aiming down LOL. Anyway, glad I found this forum so I can get all the answers and advice I ever needed on my XD! Here's a pic of me you guys can make stupid jokes about LOL, but it shows me in my trapping glory. That critter weighed about 55 pounds. ![]() Oh yeah I am also a taxidermist for a living, and my name Brush Wolf is the name of my business - I have this thing about coyotes, esp the easterns which are sometimes called brush wolves. No I have not ever caught a coyote, just not enough around for such a joyous event to occur. |

Damn, there is actually life in Maryland! I guess I have only thought of it as a paved parking lot for DC!
Coyotes abound out here in eastern Washington. One of my co-workers just bought a .17 Remington Fireball just for coyotes, very small hole and from reports often not an exit hole. But we got no foxes out here (that I know of). Since you mention solitary, I can see that you like your privacy. Usually you can be pretty anonymous on line so ask what you want and we are generally a good bunch. But if that is too uncomfortable then you can always email me and I'll try to answer or figure out who can. Anyway, I never dreamt that I would be posting this but...nice beaver! |

There are more coyotes down around DC than where I am. Those liberals down there can have their lil dogs eaten though for all I care.
The beaver in the pic is the heaviest biggest critter I have ever caught. Oh I am soooo proud of Baltimore LOL, did you know our beloved city is #2 for murders in the whole country? All those nice gun control laws and see what we get for it? LMAO |
