Soon to be Proud XD40 owner....
Hi all,
First post ever, although I've been reading a ton of 'em on the site in the last week or two. Gotten a lot of valuable info from everyone, thanks! After firing several glocks, XD's, and a sig p-226, I decided on the XD .40 service. (I liked the sig a lot too, but didn't feel it warranted the extra $$$, at least not for my first handgun). Still have a few more waiting period days left though. Went and picked up 500 rds of Blazer's at Wal Mart today, so I'll be breaking in the new toy shortly. Also, I'll be picking up some SD rounds to try out till I find a keeper. My buddy really likes the Hornady TAP's, so I think I'll try those and the Speer Gold dots to start. I know I have a million choices and everyone has their fav, but for those that own the XD 40, what do you find it eats up the best? Any input regarding grain would be much appreciated as well especially in terms of recoil. Again I know it's all about personal preference, and I plan on checking out as many variables as I can, but I don't have more than an hour a week or so to practice. Thanks! Welcome to the forum and the XD family. I've been using Remington Golden Saber and Federal Hydra-Shok.

Welcome to the forum from UT. I have the 45 model, but every round I have shot out of it has been accurate and reliable.
