Hey all, I went out to get my first handgun and decided on the SA XD-9 sub-compact. Since I'm new to firearms in general, I'm taking an intro to marksmanship course offered here locally by the US Shooting Academy. Soon, I'll take the ccw course to start the process to carry legally.

Here's what my weapon looks like:

Congratulations on the new XD and welcome to the site. Since you are new to the handgun world and are going to attain a CHL, I can emphasize enough how important it is to practice, practice, practice. Remember, you are responsible for every bullet that leaves your gun and there is no such thing is second place in a gun fight.

Again, congrats on the XD and good luck.

Congrats on a fine lookin XD. It will provide you plenty of hours of great shooting. Welcome to the club and addiction

Beautiful gun.

I have the 4" XD9 bi-tone, but I have been secretly wanting a subcompact, too.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Does anyone have any suggestions for good practice ammo to use with this gun at the range? I need at least 300 rounds for my course, but I plan on going to the range at least bi-weekly for awhile.
