Hola From Florida
New to the forums, been reading anything and everything on XD to make a good informed decision for my first pistol. I like the XD9SC for concealment carry and possible the XD9 Tactical for some fun Steel target competition. We will see about the Tact. Look forward to contuning my education on guns themselves.

Welcome, the XD SC in 9mm was my first handgun. I've since added some, but I think it's a great 1st pistol.
There are some links on Wikipedia to the 20,000 round torture test (that was for the service model, I believe), it's an interesting read. I have probably ~1,500 rounds thru my SC, and only 1 failure to eject (stovepipe). I honestly attribute that to a limp wrist. I think the XD is a great design, personally. The only thing I don't care for about the SC model is the captive recoil assembly, it just seems fragile to me. I can buy a replacement/spare from SA though, I think it's just under $20. Anyway, welcome, post if you have any questions about the XD series.

Welcome from Sarasota. If you are nearby you can run some rounds through my 9tac and my 40sc.
