Newb here in FL...

I am purchasing my first firearm of my own. I have been around firearms just never owned one myself. I figured a pistol would be a good start and something that I could actually use. I will be going through the CCW course in November once I get used to my new pistol. I am looking at the XD compact .40SW all black, S&W M&P .40, & Glock 23. But I am really leaning towards the XD. There is one feature I wish the XD had and I would be sold on it and that is what the S&W does where you can drop the mag and you wont be able to fire the round that is in the chamber. So that about does it I was just introducing myself and my future purchase. Later all....

Welcome to the site, and as for the mag safety, I can see where you might want this, but its also better practice to not end up wrestling with a pistol with somebody...

Yea I don't plan on that ever happening but you never know. The main reason I like this feature is because I could keep one in the chamber and the mag out all the time not worry about it being fired since I would hide the mag in a different spot.

I know this question is going to be one sided since I am on a XD forum but what are everyones opinions on my other choices?

Do any of the new pistol even come with a manual safety anymore?
