New to the culture
I'd like an opportunity to say hello to the community and introduce myself. I am new to the handgun community. As a boy i was a scout and had proper training with rifles, being quite the marksman. I was raised in a rifle hunting family, however never took the sport up myself. Regretfully it has been quite a few years since my last trip to a range. Now that I'm in my mid twenties and with a child at home I'm starting to consider the defensive advantage of my second amendment rights. As well as the recreational activities and stress relief target practice provides. As a resident of Michigan i am blessed to be in a CCW state (and being relatively close in proximity to Detroit double thankful). I am planning my first handgun purchase, and the courses necessary to become proficient and obtain my CCW. (That will be my second post full of questions)
With that said, Hello y'all and, I'm looking forward to the resource this community provides. |

As a side note, I actually have a buddy who lives in Flat Rock who is a shooter. He doesn't have a XD, that I know of, but he loves all things guns. If you need to shoot with somebody, I can see if I can hook you up.

Hey fellas thanks for the enthusiastic welcoming. I will certainly keep you folks posted on how my re-entry to the sport is going. I was at the gun shop today getting a feel for a few of the different pistols i've been considering. Gonna be at the range this week to test fire a few.
