xd sub compact (Springfield Custom work.??)

hey everyone, I just bought my first XD and it is a XD-9 Sub Compact. took it to the range and it was real nice to shoot.

i'm a bit concerned about the trigger pull though. i was so used to shooting my 1911 at the range that i'd anticipate the xd going off but then realized i still had a mile to go to pull the trigger.

i noticed that springfield does custom work.

have any of ya'll had competition or combat trigger work done to your gun, or the xd-9 sub specifically (from Springfield only, i'm not interested in voiding my lifetime warranty) ? if so, what should i expect in terms of pull and feel if i had them do this type of work?

this might be a preference question, but what kind of trigger pull is best for a CCW?

Welcome to the forum from Michigan. There are some forum sponsers that do some excellent work check out that part of the forum and some of the other boards. There is a ton of information here for you to read and many have had custom work done to their XDs.

Shoot it and get used to it....it is nothing like a single action 1911 trigger.
I've carried a 1911 for 10+ years and now I'm carrying either one of my XD's or GLOCKS. It took a bit to get used to

Buy some "snap caps" to use and dry fire your 9SC alot...it will smooth up the trigger and you'll get a better feel for the trigger.

Welcome to the forum from UT. I agree with mvician, the triggers are mechanically different and you just need to get used to the XD. I got and Xd and then an 1911, so I can understand your concern on the trigger pull.
