Hey guys,

I'm not a XD owner yet but planning to be by month's end. I've fired the 9mm, .40S&W, and .45 but I've narrowed it down to the .40S&W. The only problem now is choosing what barrel length. I'm not planning to carry, just want a dependable home defense/SHTF handgun. Does the 5" offer any more accuracy @ 25 yds over the standard 4" model?

Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Hey.... what part of Cali?

In my opinion you should get the Service model. For home defense as the main purpose I dont think the extra 1" will matter unless you live in a mansion.

At 25yrds it will probably make a difference though.

L.A.

I went ahead and bought the 4" Service model. It should be getting to my FFL by Tuesday, sign for it on Thursday, and pick it up two Thursdays later. That gives me enough time to stockpile ammo.
