Picking up first XD40 tomorrow

I am picking up my first xd40 tomorrow (I have shot before with the military but mostly a beretta m9) and just wondering what things I should be picking up at the same time and some decently priced practice rounds recomendations. Thanks

Winchester White Box (WWB) from Wally World should do ya just fine for practice rounds. If this is going to be a HD weapon then pick up some hollow points of your favorite flavor.

okay thats what I was thinking. I have heard wal-mart is the cheapest and good enough product for practice rounds. And yes this is both for home defense and trying to get the misses comfortable. She wants to learn to shoot so I am slowly easing her into it since we don't have much time for professional lessons. But yes I am planning on getting a couple different HP for HD use.

Great choice on weapon. My misses found it to be a little heavy and kick a little harder than she liked. After some looking around, she is loving her new Sig 232. Although we have shot each others guns, she likes hers and I like mine, and we can both shoot at the same time at the range. Everyone's happy.
Good luck.

Welcome to the forum from UT. You will enjoy the XD and if it is a little to much for your wife, there is the XD9!

yep exactly what I was thinking - I think we are going to rent her a few first and see what she is most comfortable with but I really would like her to get the xd9.

Good choice - I shoot the XD45 and enjoy how it handles. Welcome to the forum.
