Hello all, I was wondering if anyone would share their opinion on what I am about to do. Any feedback appreciated.

I have a service model XD40 which I like very much but I am considering trading it in towards a Beretta PX4 Storm in 40cal. I should add that the X D is only 3 months old and I paid $499 for it . The dealer that I am considering trading in to is offering me $350 for it. Anyone think thats a reasonable offer? I figured I would take a loss but is $ 150 a reasonable loss?

The PX4Storm is $499

I would take it. They sell used xd's in my area for $350 so them offering you $350 off the bat is good.

Even though it isn't that old, that is a pretty decent offer. Gun stores are notorious for undercutting people on trade-ins....

Thanks MAtt . The dealer I'll be going through does seem pretty honest and he is the cheapest around on anything I've looked for. These replies are really helping me make a good decision. keep em coming.

You may be able to get $400 out of it in a ftf especially if you have not sent in the warranty card yet.

hmm, maybe you should see if anyone here want's it for around 400? maybe 425 due to XD's going over 500 in some area's.

I also want one of those Beretta's but I hate the thought of getting rid of a gun for another gun, and my xd isnt a year old yet so ehh i dont know.

why dont you just save and get the beretta and keep your XD? I mean, by the time you're done with the trading, that $500 Beretta will be a $650 dollar Beretta and you will be out your XD. :[

Beitzel, How would I go about selling it on here. Sorry but I'm a fairly new gun owner and don't know whats involved in selling. Your 100% right though, and I would be more than willing to sell for $400 ( 3 mags included) if anyone is interested.
What I really want is the PX4 storm sub which wont come out till January, but I'm so damn impatient. hehe
I know what ya mean about giving up an XD. I Don't think I'll ever get rid of my XD40 sub-compact.

Well, since I dont know 100% what you need to do to sell it, you'll have to go to the "Chatter Box" section and ask them there about what all you need to do.

Then, once you know.. go to the "Trading Post" and post it up, what all you are selling with it and the price. Im sure someone will buy it for $400 if it is in good condition and with 3 mags. I know when i bought mine for $501 out the door, they had a used bi tone 9mm for the same price as mine new and if they had it for $400 with its 3 mags, I would have bought it in a second.

So, jsut ask the more intel. people on here that actually sell their XD's on here and you'll get $400 Im sure of it.

By the way, you've got me wanting the same beretta, I love my XD but the beretta looks SO DAMN COOL!

Try and hold out on buying it if you want the subbie. I'm wanting a Steyr Pro Hunter rifle and I have to wait until around January before Ill have my ducks in row to get it. I keep telling myself "Its only 4 months!!"
