hello from arizona

Hi i am new here, i do not yet own a handgun but am looking seriously at an xd of some sort. I like the safetys on the xds. I also like the way it feels, I rented one yesterday at the local indoor range and i liked it alot but it shot low, I have shot a lot of handguns and have pretty good aim. I shot my friends glock and shot a nice tight pattern, when i shot the xd every shot was low. I dont know if it was just because it was a rental or if thats the way these guns are. I am here to learn as much as i can about the xds and try to decide if it is for me. I have a ccw but for my first gun i am not looking for a sc, i am looking for a 5" or close gun. So far the xd has what i want, but the rental gun gave me pause. I shot well with a couple other pistols yesterday so i was confused with xd.

Nice to see an AZ contingancy. I too am in the Market for a CC pistol. The prices are going up as we speak. I am not sure yet if I want a 4" or 5" barrel. Any one have trigger time on both?
Thanks in advance

welcome from chandler. I haven't heard of a low shooting widespread problem. Probably just that gun or getting used to a new firearm.

Welcome to the forum from UT. I carry the XD45 Service model. I would like to get a XD45 Compact at some time.

The XD has a very long trigger pull on a stock pistol and this contributes to shooting low. I shot my XD low and to the left until I got the hang of the trigger. It takes practice. I choose the XD over the glock because of the Grip Safety, Loaded Chamber Indicator, and the firing pin status indicator.

Good luck in finding what you like.
