Nope doesn't strike me as a joke, strikes me as an insult that was delivered in a condescending tone because he thought he was superior to everyone else.

I do enjoy "meeting" new members, I never said I didn't like those threads. I said that a lot of the posts are monotonous because people drop in and say welcome and that's about it. The majority don't follow up on those threads to see if there have been questions asked or a discussion has started. No need to be critical because I follow threads and when I come to the forum, I click on the link at the top that says "New Posts" so that I can follow the most recently discussed threads. That's just the way those threads are. Here I am trying to make conversation rather than just saying hi and leaving the the thread for good and I get insulted and singled out. I wasn't insulting anyone at all, I was asking how the original poster found what everyone else was posting to be "positive, worthwhile content that had a point" when my posts were basically the same, yet I'm the one who gets insulted. There was no insult whatsoever. Quote:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of a discussion forum to discuss things? I didn't choose to track the number of times each member posts, it's part of the layout. There's no need to be critical of the person who posts a lot, you don't get any special badge or lunch box to take to work or the range. If you want to join another thread I'm on and be critical of my activity there, it's hockeyforums.com. Hockey and firearms are two things I enjoy discussing so those are the two forums I'm on the most. I'm also on pafoa.org - PA Firearms Owners Association as well...but I don't post there as much. Might I suggest that we mark this up as a misunderstanding and move along? No sense in getting into a big argument over a miscommunication. Thing about the internet is that you can't see their facial expressions, hear their tone, so it's easy to mistake something for what it wasn't intended to be. I can see how the miscommunication happened. Let's all shake hands and be pals, huh?

See, this is what I'm talking about. You're prepared to chalk it up as a misunderstanding and yet you continue with a series of insults in your "magnanimous" post... But sure, lets chalk it up as a misunderstanding.
Since your knowledgeable about hockey and I am admittedly clueless on the subject... could you please explain icing for me? |

If I'm skating with the puck from the "bottom" of the image, and I shoot the puck all the way to the end of the rink at the "top" of the image from behind the center red line, that is a basic definition of icing. For it to be called icing, a player on the opposing team has to touch the puck before one of my teammates. Also, if the opposing team's goalie plays the puck, icing is waived off. Here's the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icing_(ice_hockey) I'm trying to find a video, but to no avail.
