Forum Newb from WA
Just thought I'd introduce myself.
My names Brett and I'm an aspiring young L.E. Ranger that got out of the academy just last year (4-06). I've had my XD-40 for about a year, and love it to death...haha. Haven't had the most opportunities to shoot it (maybe 1,500 rounds or so) but I am yet to have a single malfunction of any kind. My only other semi-auto is a Russian make Ij70-18AH...in other words, it's a commercially made Russian Makarov, Double stack/hi-cap, in 9x18mm. Very accurate, and a sharp little handgun to shoot. I've got a few revolvers and a T/C Contender single shot pistol as well. It wasn't until the academy (14 weeks) that I really got into handguns...shooting about 500 rounds a day with Sig226's and Beretta 96's. Passed every qual there was, first try Anyhoo...I'm more of a rifle guy to be comletely honest. Mostly small-bore and rimfires, but I've got some big ones as well. I am also are archer--since I was 6....I can thank my father for that one. He got me into hunting at a very young age, and every year we still get together in early August for the opening of black bear season, and into the early fall deer hunt in september. I've noticed there are a LOT of guys here from the western WA area...So I'll let you guys know I'm from the Mt. Vernon/Burlington area myself (60 miles N. or Seattle). |
