You know what curiosity did to the cat . . .

Hello another new guy here from NW Washington. I've been researching the XD45c for a couple weeks now. Looking for a drop dead reliable carry .45 that is small but packs 10 rnds, easy shooting (fast back on target), accurate, good trigger with no external safties. I've looked at Gaston's G30 for years and have owned a Para P-13 for a long time but the G30's grip just seems a bit on the large side. I love my P220 but it's a little big for every day carry. I also love my 3" 625-3 but it is also a little wide for IWB even though I carry it anyway.

I went to my local pusher last week and compared the G30 side by side with the XD45c tactical. I had heard that the XD was bigger but all the dimentions I looked at seemed close to the same. I'm really looking for the standard compact model but they didn't have any. WOW I like the feel of the grip on this gun! Dovetailed front/rear sights and many other nice options along with a grip safety. I'd like to hold out for a stainless slide version of the compact but don't know if I can wait . . . any one know if there is a plan for this?

Thanks,
Slugger

Welcome to the forum from UT. I carry the XD45 Service Model. I myself did not own nor desire a automatic pistol until I shot a friends XD45, and then I had to have one for myself!

Welcome to the nuthouse. I carry a full size XD-9 Service myself daily. I am right down the I-5 corridor in Oregon. I was at Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday and held a .45 Cal Glock. The thing was huge.

Welcome to the boards Slugger. With as many XD nuts as we have here, if SA does eventually offer the compact in a bi-tone finish, this is where you'll probably hear about it first.

Welcome, I think you'll find that the XD is every bit as if not more reliable than the Glocks. Glock set the stage for years and every other polymer gun is pretty much compared to it, but the XD has won awards and is a gun who's population of owners is growing rapidly.

Welcome to the forum. By the way this could get confusing given our screen names.

Thanks all, Good to be here. I don't know . . . I may be just as fast with full moonclips in my Smith, but I think the XD will be a better packing gun. I just love throwing big rocks and flying ashtrays.
