Thanks all for the warm welcome. I don't have a lot of experience with handguns, but I did notice that the Glock was definitely snappier than the XD.

My wife wouldn't shoot at all. Her boss on the other hand really appreciated me taking him out to the range. He shot both the rem 870 12 ga, and the 1100 20 ga. He is looking for a home defense shotgun (he and his wife have a very remote cabin in Michigan's UP, and his wife spends quite a bit of time there on her own).

I recommended that he go to the local bird hunting/shotgun haven (The Grouse Perch in Old Saybrook, CT) and talk to the owners about his needs. I told him not to be suprised if they recommend a Mossberg 500 in 20 ga since his wife is pretty small.

He also enjoyed shooting the handguns, until he got a hot empty down the collar of his shirt.

Thanks,

Mike
