XD owner in Massachusetts

Hi folks!

I'm new to the forum, figured I'd drop a post and say, "Hi." I jumped at an opportunity to buy a XD 45 about 3 months ago (normally you cannot buy them in Massachusetts). Initially I wasn't terribly impressed with the gun (I'm a 1911 guy), but I took it to a defensive handgun clinic a couple weeks ago, and all of a sudden something just clicked, and it started shooting like a dream. Must have been that break in period...

In any case, with my peaked interest I've been looking for a source of info and people to talk about the XD with. Since no one else in this state has an XD, I'm hoping I can make some XD bearing friends here.

Cheers!

-Christopher

Christopher first of all welcome to the forum. I,m suprised you can even own a gun in mass. I prefer my 1911s and smith& wessons. But the xd is a fine weapon.

welcome from PA, after the break in period, the trigger starts to feel a lot better. enjoy your shooting.

put up some pics and tell us more about how you're shooting.

Is the XD45 a compact, service, or tactical?

Welcome! Somtimes I thing it is a matter of the gun breaking YOU in. If your a 1911 guy then your new XD will teach you how to PULLLLLLLL, PULLL, BREAK! Instead of PULL, BREAK! It's just an extra saftey feature to make sure you don't "Shoot your eye out kid". I tend to shoot my SA UC like crap after shooting my XD45c for awhile.
