Newb from the NW

Greetings from the great NW. Been a lurker for a few years, trying to decide which XD to pick up first. Finally took the plunge this weekend with a bi-tone 9 subcompact. Actually it was a partial Mom's day gift, because I wanted to find a carry piece for her. So it came down to the XD SC, the S&W M & P, or the Beretta PX4 in a subcompact (but that wasn't out yet). After letting her pick up and hold each one, the XD came home with us

So, looking forward to browsing more in here and picking up some tips from the rest of you...(and providing whatever I can, too)

You screwed up! Don't you know you ALWAYS buy the BIG BIG BIG gun for your wife/mother first... Then, if/when it's too much to handle, you take that one and return for the SC 9mm...

Geez.... Newbs...

How are you ever going to build your collection buying the FIRST gun as the RIGHT gun for the wife/mom?

Ahhh...you are right. But, as she already has a Sig P229 Equinox in .40cal, a Kimber CDP and a Gold Match, a CZ-75B in 9mm, even a few wheel guns from .22 to .357 mag, and an assortment of long guns (even some evil "black" things) on her side of the safe, she wanted a smaller gun to carry.

And yes, as the name would suggest, there are a few .45's in the collection, both mine and hers. As for the slowryde, just a handle that caught on back in the cruizin' days.

And thank you all for the welcome, too.

WELCOME TO A GREAT PLACE !!!

Where have you been? Did you get stuck out at the range bonding with your new XD?

Oh, by the way, just ignore some of the nonsense that goes on around here and we'll all be just fine!
